Cades Cove

Note: As any reader of this blog can tell, I don't think this will be a regular thing for me...but whenever I have something to post about, I certainly will!

This month I had the privilege of visiting Great Smoky Mountains National Park with my family. It was lots of fun, even though there were a few more people there than usual (read: typical summertime in the most visited national park in America with 11+ million visitors!!). In this article I will begin sharing some of my Cades Cove photos. Enjoy! :)

The usual trail that we take to the John Oliver cabin was closed, so we took this one instead for the first time. Loved all the pretty green and tress! And my family made for great subjects walking down the trail...
Sometimes it's those little things that capture your attention. Before walking down the trail at all, I saw the water droplets on this leaf. Loved it!
Having a DSLR now is really cool because I love all the new creative tools and settings now at my (literal) fingertips. It was fun manually focusing on, say the middle rather than front or back root here. Below, I enjoyed slowing down enough to sight this side trail...

More fun playing with focus...

This shot reminded me of that Robert Frost quote about taking the path less traveled!

To be continued...
