Warren Dunes with the family!
So earlier this month I had the great honor of hosting my parents and sister for a week or so, and during that time of course I took them out to Warren Dunes for a sunset! Per usual, neither the sunset nor my family's antics disappointed me ;) Haha. It was lots of fun to hang out, make quality memories, and take photos like only we can. It was pretty much an hour straight photo shoot with a few other activities thrown in ;)
Following are some of my favorite pictures!
Of course I had to start out with the classic "grasses in front of the sunset" shot...
...but I soon turned my attention to the greenery behind me. I never remember it being so vibrant before!
The lure of the path is strong.
Such a big sweeping beach! Love how deserted Michigan's most popular state park can be...even during the summer. Shhh, keep this a secret, but I've found going on a weeknight to really help! ;)
My dad pondering the grasses...
...then teaching my sister how to skip stones in a pond near the beach.
I really liked this shot of the pond with the beach, and the lake in the very back of the background.
Just to prove that I did take your typical beach shots ;)
Hey! A dinosaur came to watch the sunset, too!
The waves were quite active. Really fun to try and catch some of that action in my photographs.
Note the rare Michigander. The Michigander is a rare creature, often confining herself to forest trails or beach sides. She is often found near a body of water, almost never is without her camera, and always has a heightened appreciation for the beauties of nature... ;)
I really enjoyed snapping this series of shots of my sister having fun at the beach!
Posed is nice, but you just can't beat candid!
Now we get to the point in the evening where both my mom and I were like, "Alison, go here, do this, look that direction!" My sister has been around long enough to happily do as she is told...and she turns around and asks us to do the same exact stuff too! :D
I really, really, really like these two shots here.
Alison looks like some sort of intrepid explorer here, staring off into the sunset, ready for whatever may meet her...sounds almost like the beginning or close of some western movie! :P
What we want you to see...
...and what the scene actually looks like, hahaha! I really love how candid and honest this shot is! ;)
Bird!
The stunning finale.

And thus concludes another fantastic evening at Lake Michigan, thanks as always for reading everyone! This trip was particularly fun and special because my family was with me :D
Love your photos!!! You got many great ones!
