Florida 2018: Sunset

And, as all good things do, this series on my Florida vacation has come to an end. I hope you have enjoyed these pictures! And quite appropriately, my last post focuses on sunset shots. Enjoy! :)  Loved getting both the trees/lake/fountain in with the dusk and moon. That's all, folks!!

Florida 2018: Birds 'n' Stuff

Along with the sky, my camera also sought out whatever feathered friends I could find. Herons, sandhill cranes, and more were so fun to see in real life! Enjoy! :) To be continued...

Summer Sunset at Warren Dunes

Image
It has been a solid two months since I last visited Lake Michigan. As I was very mentally exhausted last night (read: summer school!), I decided that going to watch a sunset at Warren Dunes was just what I needed :D I was actually quite happily surprised to see that there actually weren't crowds and crowds of people there...maybe because it was a week night, I don't know. Or maybe the summer season hasn't hit full force yet. Anyways, I had a grand time! Loved seeing the sunset and it was just the refreshing my soul needed. Of course, I made sure to bring my camera along too - following are some of my favorite shots! Enjoy! :)  I got there around an hour before the sun set - which for me, is plenty of time to sit and take it all in, plus snap a few shots as well :D  I had fun playing around with putting the grasses in front of the sun. Nothing says "Andrews University" and "Southwest Michigan" to me more than the pictures right here!! ...

Florida 2018: Sunrise

As you might imagine, one of my favorite things about visiting Florida is all the beautiful sunrises and sunsets. It truly is a really photogenic state. Without further adieu, here's some of my favorite captures from golden hour! What's one of your favorite pics from this post? Comment below!! (two more posts will be following this one with similar material)  You just can't beat the feeling of excitement and travel when you board the airplane and see this out your window...  Reflections.  It was so fun playing around with composition, the sun, the frowns, and focus!! Welcome to another day! To be continued...

Florida 2018: McLarty Treasure Museum

Image
It's been a wild month for me! Lots of exciting things happening at school, plus I just got back from a long weekend trip to visit my grandparents near Detroit. Before I share about that, however, I should really finish up my Florida series! Two more posts to go! This one is on our visit to the McLarty Treasure Museum in Sebastian, Florida. It was a small though nice state run museum on the local history of treasure collection and shipwrecks. This area has had a lot of both (especially with the Spanish in the 1700's), and it was fun to both see the artifacts and hear the stories. Following are some of the pictures I took. I highly recommend visiting if you ever find yourself down there!!  I really liked this ship model!! Trade routes. Outside there was a really nice boardwalk to the beach, and a cool pirate flag to boot!! That's it for this time, folks! One more Florida 2018 blog post to go! :D -Austin
